Fact 1

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE CROSSES ALL BOUNDARIES: SOCIAL, ECONOMIC, EDUCATIONAL, ETHNIC, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, CULTURAL, AGE, GENDER, ETC. IT AFFECTS FAMILIES, FRIENDS, EXTENDED FAMILIES, NEIGHBORS, CO-WORKERS, AND ULTIMATELY THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY.

Every year, millions of women around the world are abused. They are afraid to leave abusive relationships despite being battered by husbands and boyfriends. Any woman who's ever been hit knows that it's difficult to leave, even if she doesn't fully understand how she ever came to love an emotionally crippled man.

Supportive Care has been providing services to the Merrimack Valley area since 1983. We are a multi-service agency that provides an array of community services.

Supportive Care Domestic Violence Program began in 1994. It was founded by Julrene McCarter who believed that there should be a world where women are safe from violence and abuse in their homes and communities. Supportive Care Is committed to helping women and their families gain independence and live without the fear of violence.

Supportive Care is a certified Minority Agency that is dedicated to providing quality services that are culturally competent and sensitive to the needs of the family.
